Why are plastic toothbrushes a problem?
Nylon bristles are made from petroleum. Every time you brush, they shed microplastics directly into your gum tissue — one of the highest-absorption surfaces in your body — and into your bloodstream.

Natural hair is held mechanically, the same way traditional brushes have been made for centuries. Light shedding in the first few uses is normal. It's a sign of a genuinely natural material, not a defect.
Will the bamboo handle get mouldy?
No. Each handle is steam carbonised at 300°C — this eliminates all mould spores, removes internal sugars that attract bacteria, and makes the bamboo highly water-resistant for the life of the brush.
